Olivia Story's Story

There are 10 squaddies doing the Blackpool Marathon on Sunday 11th April and getting sponsored to raise money for Olivia. Some of these will be wearing full army gear and this is very heavy!
Look out for the lads if you are about in Blackpool, they will all be wearing Olivia T-shirts.
The Marathon starts at 9am from the Hilton Hotel on the promenade.

There are some exciting things happening for the trust in 2010.
 Stevie Las Vegas is holding another concert sometime in the year - this will be rocking if it is half as good as the last one!
There is the Cumbrian run which Ryan Brown, Myself and lots of other people are doing
There will be a pool/darts tournament, possibly in club 35 - details TBA
There will be several nights out with live music/acts, possibly one in Walkabout - details TBA
There is the Harraby Secondary School reunion in April, proceeds to the Trust
There are collection boxes in various shops
There will be a football match with proceeds to the trust - Details TBA

Olivia received a Brave Hearts of the NorthEast award today (3/12/09) for her bravery whilst ill and her continued bravery and cheerfullness!! We are soooooo proud of Olivia and think she totally deserves it.
We had a great day at St James' park in Newcastle and think that all of the kids who attended are amazing. You can find the Brave Hearts website here where you can donate or nominate someone for the award.
They awarded Olivia with a Brave hearts crystal award and have paid for a 3 storey playhouse to be built for her.

Ryan Brown and myself, despite being very very unfit and quite portly have been co-erced into doing the Cumbrian run next year. We are looking for people willing to do it with/for us and get sponsored. Jono Ogilvie has created a group on facebook where you can sign up for this or sponsor us online. We are planning on hopefully getting the T-shirts sponsored so we will be able to provide everyone with an "I'm running for the Olivia Story Trust" T-shirt and we will provide everyone with sponsor forms also.
This is a huge challenge for me - I will probably walk most of it! If anyone wants to do it with me & Ryan then please sign up on the facebook group page or send me an email here

Olivia is doing the family run (1.5 miles) with her Brother & Sister - This is a massive challenge for her also as it is very tiring for her to walk so far.

There is a reunion for the former pupils of Harraby Secondary school class of 87-88 at the Harraby Catholic Club. 30th April 2010 so oodles of time!! Organised by Jo Mark. Tickets are £4 and all proceeds go to THE OLIVIA STORY TRUST!!!! Entertainment provided by the excellent STEVIE LAS VEGAS

we now have the permission of the meningitis help charitable trust to use their charity number to raise money for Olivia's trust fund. This has a significant impact in that businesses can now donate money to a registered charity (us) and receive tax incentives from the government and may be able to write off some of their tax bill!!

Tony from the meningitis help charitable trust has a wealth of experience in fundraising and related issues and is now advising us.
